There are times in our life when we have to get honest with ourselves. Those moments of honesty may come when we sit before a pile of bills or when our marriage hits a rough spot. For some of us, this is a moment ripe with possibilities for a fresh start, but usually before we start anew, we have to be honest.
Honesty is hard. But it is a key component of the Christian life.
Let’s be clear: this is not the kind of honesty that says anything and everything that comes into one’s mind. It is not the honesty that destroys either ourselves or others, but it is an honest that builds.
Honesty builds possibilities. Honesty builds hope. Honesty builds relationships.
This week we are talking about “Speaking the Truth in Love.” Speaking the truth in love is an honesty that is grounded in maturity. And for Christians, that maturity is grounded in the model of Jesus.
Join in this week as we continue our series, Let’s Get Real, Life isn’t Always Rainbows and Unicorns, as we talk about honesty.
